How can we help?
The Calendar tab says it needs access.
Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Calendars (and Reminders), and switch NotchStar on. Reopen the notch afterwards.
Mirror shows no camera.
Allow NotchStar under System Settings, Privacy & Security, Camera. Mirror only starts the camera while its tab is open.
Now Playing shows nothing.
Start playback in an app that reports to the macOS Now Playing, such as Music or Spotify. Some players do not report a progress bar, which is normal.
The notch does not open when I hover.
Open Settings from the gear in the notch header and check that Open notch is set to On hover. If it is set to On click, click the notch instead.
I cannot see the menu bar icon.
Crowded menu bars can hide icons behind the notch. See our guide on hidden menu bar icons for fixes.
How do I quit NotchStar?
Click the star in the menu bar and choose Quit NotchStar.
