Small, native and quiet.

NotchStar is an independent Mac app. We think the notch is the best spot on the screen: it is always there, always in the same place, and usually wasted. We want it to feel like something Apple might have shipped.

What we care about

• It should feel native. Real system controls, spring animations that follow your settings, and respect for Reduce Motion and VoiceOver.
• It should stay out of the way. No Dock icon, no noise, and nothing running that you are not looking at, where we can help it.
• It should be private. No account and no analytics. Your clipboard and your notes stay on your Mac.
• It should be honest. We say where other apps do more, and we date and source every comparison.

Open about the tradeoffs

Our now playing guide explains a tradeoff we made, including the parts that are fragile. We would rather you hear that from us.
